The UW Theme team is making steady progress on a new Gutenberg theme! Here’s a closer look at what we’ve accomplished and what’s on the horizon.
Status Update
This project is currently in the Development Phase, which started on July 16, 2024. We’ve successfully completed the design, development, and beta testing of several key Gutenberg blocks:
- Paragraph
- List
- Heading
- Buttons
- Image
In addition, we’ve built migration tooling for these blocks, and will begin beta testing this workflow in our next sprint. We’ve also started development on the header and footer of the theme. For now, their design and features will stay the same to avoid introducing changes that might cause issues for users to fix later.

- Hero page element (9/13/24)
