The Featured Content Block Element allows you to use existing content and feature a page, post, media file, faculty/staff member, or documents page and highlight it on another page. You can also create custom content using the Featured Content Block.
Using Existing Content with the Feature Content Block will create a link to the page and pull in the Excerpt from the page to display. This is very useful when you want to reuse links to the same content in multiple locations. Because the Excerpt is attached to the page, it gets reused through the site. Updating the Excerpt will update that content everywhere it is used on the site.
Featured Content Block is available in One, Two, and Three Column Content Layouts. See the examples below on how you might use this Page Element on your site.
One Column Layout
Featured Content w/o Image
You can create custom content as a Featured Content Block. You might used this for an important, short-term announcement, or as an easy to edit message to timely information, as it changes throughout the semester. Adding a link will make the title a clickable link.
Two Column Layout

The image on the right is another example of how a Featured Content Block can be used. You can insert an image or a file, and a link to the file is automatically created. The excerpt for that image or file is automatically populated beneath the link. The image above the link is manually added as part of the Featured Content Block.
